“Natalie, I was sick,” he laughs, reaching over to give me a light punch in the arm. Xxnx As the bus pulls into the school lot, I dread walking in. He kisses me on the lips and escorts me to his Dodge Challenger. “Why does that sound like a question?” he asks. “What went on between you two anyway?” he asks. Taurus laughs and nods, fascinated by my determination to do a good job. How was school today? “Taurus, I go to East Side, you?” he asks. I look up into his eyes momentarily then back down to my food with a sigh. I lay back at the bottom of the bed, beyond exhausted and wanting to be able to sleep right now.
