“Don’t panic, love,” Jake assured her, suppressing a chuckle. xnx “Yeah, a little,” Béla confessed. “You going to throw me in, too?” Béla asked, startled at the callous way he was treating her stuff. I haven’t cleaned up from making supper.”
Béla followed him in, looking around with those big, dark eyes of hers. “You said you feel really good when you regenerate.”
“Humph!” Béla had nothing more to say. Jake, disappointed at losing his magnificent view, sat down at the other end of the couch. “This way!” He motioned with his arm and led the way into the bedroom. “You missed!” She stuck out her tongue. “You were screaming at someone you’d killed. The crackling sound he’d heard a moment earlier gave him a horrid understanding. Holding the bow in one hand with the quiver dangling precariously in the other, he asked, “Wanna do some shooting?”
“Right now?”
